ISBIS Support for Active Participants

In addition to the World Bank funds, there is a limited amount of ISBIS funding to provide partial support for participants who will actively participate in the conference by presenting a talk. To apply, you must be a member of ISI and ISBIS, and be a PhD student or a post doc in an academic institution.

How to Apply

You must send a request by email to the ISBIS President at nalini.ravishanker@uconn.edu, and include:

  • your vita,
  • a short statement on the research you will present,
  • how you will participate in the conference (invited talk or contributed talk), and
  • a detailed list of expenses for which you seek reimbursement.
  • Note: Students must also include a letter of support from their advisor.

Your application must be received on or before February 22, 2019 in order to be considered. We expect to send our decision about the possibility and level of support by February 28, 2019. Since the funding is not likely to cover all your costs, we strongly encourage you to seek supplementary funding elsewhere, using the WB or ISBIS award as recognition of your work.

Note: If you have also applied directly to the ISI for travel funds to attend the ISI-WSC in Kuala Lumpur, please mention that in your application. You may only receive travel support from either ISBIS or ISI.
