MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT
Dear ISBIS members,
A new year just started and the common hope is that it will be better than the one we just left behind and the hope has a name: vaccine. It will take time before we will get back (?) to our earlier life. In the meanwhile, we try to do our best in our personal life, adopting a safe behavior, and in our work. In ISBIS, like in other societies, we had to cancel many events, especially the ones making our Association a community of people gathering, discussing and sharing enjoyable moments. We had to adapt to the new situation: it took a while but we are now back in business, using the new opportunities offered by online platforms. You will read detailed reports about our past and future initiatives in this issue of ISBIS News but I want to summarize them here to show the efforts that all of us, ISBIS officers and active members, have done to comply with the commitment we have with all of you. First of all, I asked Román Viveros (the unbeatable editor of ISBIS News) to consider this as the last 2020 issue and get back to the usual schedule (April, August, December) this year to show that the emergency is over, at least in our Association. The next issue will contain also my farewell message after two years as ISBIS President (but I will stay as ASMBI Editor-inChief unless the new President, Dan Jeske, or Wiley fire me!).
